Midtown is a hub of a lot of things, including, as we discussed in a piece earlier this week, pieds-a-terre. The pace of apartment sales is typically brisk in the area, and buyers from outside New York looking for an investment pad to perhaps visit once or twice a year are only increasing the competition. Still, there's a fair amount of inventory out there, especially if you consider the many sub-neighborhoods that make up Midtown as one.

Here are five apartments for sale in the neighborhood, broadly defined, all having open houses this weekend.

330 East 38th St., #25F

This is a one bedroom condo in the Corinthian, a doorman building near the East River. The apartment has a balcony and a living room with bay windows. The building has a drive-through entrance, valet garage parking, laundry, a conference room, a billiard room, a kids playroom, a lounge with a kitchen, a health club and spa, an indoor pool, and an outdoor running track. The apartment is listed for $1.049 million. Common charges are $622 a month.

The open house is set for Sunday, March 18th, noon-1:30 p.m., by appointment.

This one-bedroom condo in Hell's Kitchen has wood floors, a renovated kitchen, a terrace, and a marble bath. It faces south. The building has a doorman, an on-site manager, and a health club, and parking is available. There are two laundry rooms on the floor. Pets are allowed, and there's also a bike room. The apartment is listed for $780,000, and has $668 a month common charges.

215 E. 24th St., #116

A one bedroom co-op in Kips Bay, listed for $849,000. It's a narrow split-level apartment with carpet and exposed brick upstairs, and wood floors on the ground level. The layout is weird, and ultimately makes the apartment consist of three floors in two, with an opening for stairs in the center. There's a tax abatement in place, but maintenance is $1,783 a month. Cats and co-purchasers are allowed, but not dogs, guarantors, or pieds-a-terre. The building has a bike room, a garage, laundry, a live-in super, a virtual doorman, and storage available. There's also a roof deck.

The open house is set for Sunday, March 18th, 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
