Have you been enjoying the NYC holidays, but nagged by a sinking feeling that you just don't get enough BrickUnderground in your day? No worries, we get that a lot. Which is why we've started up a new Instagram account @BrickUnderground to document buildings, interiors, decorations, and more that inspire our editors all over the city.
In honor of Thanksgiving tomorrow (and in hopes of avoiding the crush of holiday traffic), we're heading out a little early today to dig out our stretchiest pants and prep our kitchens for the coming onslaught. Check back here on Friday for some holiday viewing recommendations to get you through your leftovers-induced food coma, and we'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming on Monday, with our annual guide to all things holiday tipping and giving. Wishing all our readers a safe, fun, and delicious holiday!
Scoff all you want, but you know that besides the feasting, we're all be surreptitiously posting and scrolling through our Instagram feeds this Thursday to see the dazzling array of delicious Thanksgiving goodness everyone's enjoying (and perhaps to avoid tense family conversations, as the case may be).
Before we head our separate ways for the weekend, Brick's got a very important announcement: we've finally gotten on Instagram, @BrickUnderground. Let's be friends, shall we? Expect lots of eye candy interior design, NYC streetscapes, and interesting architecture our editors spot while out and about in the city.
This being the weekend when spirits walk the earth, kids hit up the local bodega for candy they don't have to pay for, and drunker-than-usual adults roam the streets in full costume, we're revisiting some our more (ahem) haunting stories to get in the mood. Read at your own risk:
Between neighbors' noise complaints, pet-unfriendly landlords, and the daunting task of corralling any animal to behave in an elevator (or worse, in a cramped stairwell), life for pet owners in New York apartments can be, well, a little ruff. (Sorry.) But that doesn't stop a whole lot of us from sharing our small spaces with furry companions.
