5 Manhattan apartments on the first floor for under $520,000, so you can skip the stairs
Ground-floor living isn’t for everyone. Street-level apartments—especially those that face the sidewalk—can be loud. Passers-by can easily peer into the windows, so you might need to keep the blinds down more often than you might like. And pests—insects, mice, and other assorted creepy-crawlies—are more of a problem.
As a result, ground-floor units are often listed for considerably less than comparable apartments on higher floors. But they’re a great option for folks with mobility issues (especially in walk-ups), or those who simply don’t want to have to lug groceries, a dog, or a stroller up the stairs.
If you think that you’d be a good candidate for ground-floor living, here are five first-floor apartments in Manhattan that can be yours, all for under $520,000 (and several are a lot less).
