You should probably order your groceries online before Jonas hits
Given that NYC is now officially in a state of "Blizzard Watch," it's safe to assume everyone you know had the same idea at once: Better stock up on food, wine, and toilet paper if I'm going to be cooped up in my apartment all weekend. But rather than throwing elbows in the pandemonium we assume is going on at Trader Joe's, may we suggest ordering your supplies online, before it's too late?
But you'll need to move fast: Delivery slots seem to be long gone already on FreshDirect and Peapod, but you can still get groceries, booze, and takeout from delivery.com; meals from Munchery; and depending on where you live, Google Shopping Express and Instacart still have delivery slots available for tomorrow. That said, if you don't get it together to get groceries today and find yourself with a hankering for some greasy Chinese food on Saturday, you can still order from Seamless (provided they're still up and running), but be sure to tip generously (and in cash), be patient with longer wait times, and try to order from a restaurant as close to your apartment as possible. No one—let alone your long-suffering, bike-ridden delivery guy—wants to be stuck schlepping bags of food in the snow.
