Like the idea of life in an upscale downtown townhouse, but don't want to commit to the mortgage? For a cool $25,000/month, you can now rent out 55 Sullivan Street, a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath new development townhouse in Soho. The home is connected to, and part of, the luxury rental building 55 Thompson, meaning you'll be getting the privacy of a townhouse with all the perks of a larger building, including a doorman, concierge, and a fitness center.

The main floor is set up well for enertaining, with a huge open kitchen that leads out into a larger living space (complete with gas fireplace), which in turn leads out onto a private terrace with its own barbecue:

There are two queen-sized bedrooms the next level up, both en-suite bathrooms, and one with its own private balcony:

The house is outfitted with central air, recessed lighting, and shades, and also allows pets. Not a bad option if you're able to splash out on a monthly rent that's equivalent to a New York writer's starting annual salary.
