Housing lottery apartments are availble now in Midtown, starting at $613
More than 200 discounted apartments are coming up for rent in Midtown as part of the city's housing lottery.
At 42 West 33rd St., a new 36-story building half a block from the Empire State Building, applications are open for 45 apartments. The units are studios, one-, and two-bedrooms, starting at $867 a month. They are reserved for households making $31,600-$57,200.
The otherwise-luxury building includes 24-hour lobby staff, a pool, a gym, a lounge, meeting rooms, a golf simulator, a party room, a spa, laundry, a "dog wash," and a garden. The amenities are accessible only with additional fees.

Over on the West Side, on 42nd Street at 11th Avenue, 166 apartments are available in the massive sky ultra-luxury development. The 71-story building is home to Knicks including Kristaps Porzingis, who rents a penthouse apartment and two others. It has lobby staff, a roof deck, a Carmelo-Anthony-designed basketball court, a kid's playroom, a gym, a pool, a putting green, a cafe, a parking garage, bike storage, and other amenities, many of which are fee restricted.
The income-restricted apartments are heavily discounted: ranging from studios to two bedrooms, they start at $613, with one batch reserved for households making $22,900-$38,200. Another set are set aside for households making $68,700-$114,500, and start at $1,950 for a studio.
