This three-bedroom rental has a rock 'n roll backstory and the holy grail of NYC amenities—a parking spot
Town Residential
We'll get to the apartment in a minute, but can we just focus for one second on the fact that this three-bedroom in Hell's Kitchen comes with its very own parking space? The brokers at Town Residential are billing it as a "celebrity dream home," since the parking spot allows you to be discreet (and considering the price tag of $16,495, you may very well have to be a star to afford it). But if you've been in New York long enough—and attempted to pay for a garage or have been stuck in the alternate-side parking cycle—you know that an in-building parking spot is a dream for anyone, famous or not.
Now onto the apartment itself: It's a duplex with three-bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths and over 2,600 square feet of indoor space. Plus, you get another nearly 700 square feet of private terrace on top of that.
The ceilings are about 12 feet high, the floors are dark oak hardwood, and the large chef's kitchen has stainless appliances, stone counter tops, a Subzero refrigerator, a 6-burner Viking range, wine fridge and a Bosch Dishwasher. There are some impressive "extras," too, like a fireplace, a washer and dryer, and a private storage room. Bedrooms are downstairs with entertaining spaces upstairs.
The condo building is called The Hit Factory, as it happens to have been one of the best-known recording studios of all times. The Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Michael Jackson, Madonna, U2, Christina Aguilera, and Mariah Carey all recorded here (many of whom won Grammys for their work made here).
