Keys to NYC's most exclusive park come with this rental
If you've been itching for access to private Gramercy Park—and you have $12,500 per month to spare—you're in luck. This furnished two-bedroom in a boutique condominium at 7 Gramercy Park West faces the park and comes with a set of keys to the exclusive greenspace. The prewar unit, listed by Maison International, was revamped in the 1980s, but retains classic features like high ceilings, large windows, and a fireplace.
You'll enter a foyer that leads to the separate living and dining areas; the former's corner position means multiple exposures that bring in lots of sunlight, as well as views of the park. The building's 1985 renovation is echoed in that metallic brick fireplace (see the main image), but the kitchen looks more contemporary, with sleek granite countertops, a large island, and upscale appliances.
In the large master suite, you'll find ample closet space and a bathroom that appears to have been recently renovated with plentiful storage space and includes a walk-in shower and a separate tub.
The second bedroom comes furnished with two twin beds, which makes this apartment a good fit for either a family with young children, or a renter who plans to host guests fairly often. This room also has its own full bathroom; there's an additional half bath in the hallway, though its wallpaper may be something of an acquired taste.
You'll find full-time doorman service in the building, but its most compelling feature may very well be having Gramercy Park as your backyard.
