First Service Residential/StreetEasy

If you’re looking for a new rental and you’re one of the many New Yorkers who adopted or bought a pet during the Covid-19 pandemic, your next place is going to have to be pet friendly, too.

The good news is that both you and your pet may be able to score an upgrade. There are over 24,000 apartments in buildings that allow pets listed on StreetEasy, and many have prime pet amenities like a dog run or are within walking distance to a park.

And new luxury developments—where you can get a deal right now—have taken pet amenities to the next level with heated dog runs, onsite grooming and walking services, and dog playgrounds. 555Ten, a development in Hudson Yards, has a covered, heated dog run. At Throw Me a Bone, which is on site, staff will walk, feed, and spend time with your dog while you’re away (residents get discounted rates on services).

So, if you’re looking to upgrade your digs for you and your pet, here are five apartments for rent in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens that are pet-friendly and have some sort of pet amenity.
