This one-bedroom rental in DUMBO boasts not only a spectacular location—it's on a cobblestone street right on the river, and the trip to Manhattan is breeze—but an iconic status. The apartment is in the Clocktower Building, an historic property and Brooklyn icon that also has the dubious distinction of being one of the borough's most expensive, according to Curbed, and this unit is listed by Corcoran at $5,000 per month, steep for a one-bedroom, even for a swanky neighborhood. That said, the "bones"—as they say—are fantastic, with high ceilings and voluminous rooms. (Your call whether the convenience and the amenities make it worthwhile.)

You'll enter into a wide foyer that leads to the open plan kitchen, recently renovated in cool grays. The chef-friendly space features a sizeable island and upscale appliances, including a dishwasher. The living room, with its high, beamed ceilings and tall windows, looks bright and spacious.

The bedroom has a similarly airy feel, and includes a dressing area with a custom walk-in closet and en-suite bath. The bathroom comes with a separate soaking tub and shower stall, though it looks a bit austere; there's also a half bath in the hallway, convenient for guests.

There's a small extra room for laundry and storage in the apartment, and building amenities include full-time doorman and concierge service, a fitness room, and a roof deck. Plus, there's additional green space at Brooklyn Bridge Park, just steps from the property.
