For a buyer who prefers the sound of waves to sirens and honking horns, this two-bedroom, two-bath condo in Manhattan Beach may be worth considering. The apartment, in a new development in the South Brooklyn neighborhood, boasts views of Sheepshead Bay and is only a three-block walk from Coney Island and Manhattan Beach Park. It's a great spot to be for summer, and the price is far below what you'd find closer to Manhattan: The condo is listed by Univani Reality for $965,000, and a 15-year tax abatement means common charges are super low.

The open living and dining area (see main image) has a corner position with south and west facing views, and you'll be well-positioned to take in the sunset from the balcony. The kitchen, while not huge, makes efficient use of its space with plentiful, sleek cabinetry, upscale, stainless steel appliances, and a cute breakfast bar.

The master bedroom also features west-facing views, as well as a walk-in closet and en suite bath; the adjacent bedroom also has a roomy closet and bath, plus access to the balcony.

You'll also find an in-unit washer and dryer; building amenities include doorman service, bike storage, a gym, and an expansive roof deck with views of the bay. Plus, the biggest indicator you're not in Manhattan: The condo comes with its own parking space.
