Buying or renting in New York City typically means making concessions of one kind or another. Maybe your apartment is in a great location, but it's tiny and bare-bones; or perhaps it has shiny, new appliances, but it's also on the ground floor and doesn't get enough sunlight.

Most likely, there are several items on your wish list that, in an ideal (and less exorbitantly expensive) world, you'd have in your home. We want to know what's number one for you: What would you most like to have in your NYC apartment? Take our survey, and then check back here next week to find out what New Yorkers really covet this holiday season (apartment-wise)—and beyond.
