Interest in the South Bronx is surging, to the dismay of many locals; Riverdale, meanwhile, has long attracted buyers and is getting even hotter as more New Yorkers head to the outer boroughs in search of affordability. Here's a look at two-bedroom co-ops and condos hosting open houses this weekend in the northwest Bronx neighborhood.

75 West 238th Street, Apartment 2F: This two-bedroom co-op comes with plentiful closet space, a fresh-looking galley kitchen, and updated floors; there's a live-in super and laundry facilities in the building. Asking price: $175,000. Open house: Sunday, February 26, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.

5900 Arlington Avenue, Apartment 2J: A two-bedroom, two-bath co-op with elegant arched entryways, renovated bathrooms, and a private balcony with river views. The development also boasts unusual-for-NYC amenities, including a club with tennis courts and a swimming pool. Asking price: $440,000. Open house: Sunday, February 26 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.

640 West 237th Street, Apartment 9D: This two-bedroom, two-bath condo offers a high perch, a large balcony, and expansive views--and, interestingly, opportunity for star-gazing from the property's private observatory. (Try finding that in Manhattan.) Other perks range from 24-hour concierge service to a fitness center to an outdoor play area. Asking price: $1.125 million. 5420 Netherland Avenue, Apartment B35: A two-bedroom, one-bath prewar co-op with an updated galley kitchen and spacious dining room, in a property with a live-in super and courtyard. Asking price: $240,000. Open house: Sunday, February 26 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.
