Think it’s impossible to find an apartment in Manhattan for around $500,000? It isn’t. Here are 10 units across the borough that fit the bill, including a Murray Hill one-bedroom where J.P. Morgan once lived with his family, an alcove studio overlooking a courtyard in Sutton Place and a one-bedroom in a sixth floor walk-up in the East Village.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS: A two-bedroom, one-bath home with nine-foot ceilings, oak floors and new windows in a walk-up building with a super, a central laundry area, storage and a bike room at 720 West 173rd Street (between Fort Washington and Haven Avenues). $499,000 plus $909/month maintenance
