Rent at Greenpoint Landing for less than $500 a month
Applications are now open for affordable rentals as cheap as $494/month at 21 Commercial Street, part of the controversial new Greenpoint Landing development, per a listing on NYC Housing Connect.
All told, there are 92 apartments available, ranging from $494/month studios to $1,025/month two-bedrooms, for applicants with annual household incomes between $18,309 and $51,780, depending on family and apartment size. All told, Greenpoint Landing will consist of 10 buildings and 5,500 apartments, with 1,400 affordable apartments in the mix, as Curbed has reported. According to the listings, amenities at 21 Commercial Street will include a live-in super, laundry room, "landscaped community courtyard & fitness room," and for an extra fee, a bike room.
Per usual with these kinds of developments, half of the apartments will be set aside for current residents of Brooklyn's CB1, which comprises much of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The deadline for applications is February 3, 2016.
