SteetEasy’s Most Wanted: A view for every taste
Clearly, Noel Coward wasn’t the only person looking for a room (or an apartment) with a view.
This week, StreetEasy’s Most Wanted--the 10 apartments saved most often by buyers trolling StreetEasy--features spaces (or apartment buildings) that offer a variety of views, from the Hudson River to the city skyline to townhouse gardens.
You can gaze at the Hudson River from the windows of a two-bedroom, $1m UWS co-op. The river views from the corner unit on Riverside Drive, between 103rd and 104th streets, trail Riverside Park. The apartment also has an eat-in kitchen, a W/D, and relatively low maintenance ($1,066).
Another two-bedroom co-op on the UWS (this one for $1.25m, on 79th between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues) offers views of the “sweeping city” variety. There’s also a landscaped common roof deck, and the building welcomes pied-a-terres, but the kitchen and bathrooms may need renovation, and the doorman only works part-time.
Although the best views aren’t necessarily visible from inside the $1.75m two-bedroom co-op loft on East 22nd Street between Broadway and Park Avenue South in Flatiron, a common roof deck offers views of the Manhattan skyline. The apartment is for sale by the owner and has a W/D, a/c units, new windows and extra space that can be used as a third bedroom.
If you’re looking for a quainter view, consider a $975k two-bedroom postwar co-op on East 77th, just off Third Avenue. The pristine renovated unit has “Parisian-like views over townhouse gardens.” There’s also a roof deck with “expansive 360° city views.” But W/D installation is only allowed with board approval and all the windows in the apartment face north.
