Three-bedroom apartments in prime locations don't come cheap:  Right now, according to StreetEasy.com, the median asking price for a three-bedroom rental with at least two bathrooms below 96th Street in Manhattan is $8,550.  

This two-bedroom, two-bath condo listed for $775,000 at 240 Prospect Place in Brooklyn is priced $75,000 higher than it sold for in July 2006, not an uncommon price trajectory for much of Brooklyn, including Prospect Heights.
