An HDFC one-bedroom, 827 10th Ave. #5S in Hell's Kitchen, is affordable and has low maintenance. The apartment has high ceilings, prewar details, and hardwood floors. The living room/dining room area is east-facing and sunny. (Admittedly, the carpet is a bit of a downer.)
