The Upper East Side's East End Avenue — where this $3,000 one-bedroom apartment is located — is one of those streets some people would absolutely love, and others couldn't handle. Some love the quiet and relative remoteness, but others think it's all too much of a schlep (the closest subway stop is a good half-mile away), and too sleepy for a Manhattan location.
Given this week's theme, we thought we'd scour the listings for spaces that would work as a share. In a city where two-bedrooms are often paraded around as three-bedrooms, it's nice to see an actual three-bedroom that three people could live in comfortably. All of the apartments below are true three-beds.

HDFC co-ops can seem too good to be true, offering affordably priced co-ops in desirable New York City neighborhoods. And, according to an article on DNA Info, sometimes they just might be, after all.
This $2,500 first-floor one-bedroom, one-bath located at 25-56 38th Street in Astoria has outdoor space and looks like it's been recently renovated, complete with new kitchen appliances and hardwood floors in the bedroom. (Take a look at another garden-free $2,200 one-bedroom listed in the same building to get a sense of what this place might look like with furniture.)
The only part that could still use a little makeover: that garden.
