Dear Ms. Demeanor,
Our live-in super has been working out on our gym. Is it awful to say that I find it annoying? It just feels strange because it's such a casual atmosphere, and he's an employee. Is he even allowed to do it?
Signed,
Wendy Workout
Dead Wendy Workout,
Your super lives in the building and, in the absence of any building rules against it, has a right to use the gym during his off-hours like the rest of us.
Dear Ms. Demeanor,
How long is long enough to wait before stealing a neighbor's paper?
Imagine large piles outside the door of the apartment next to mine. They must be away somewhere reading the newspaper on their iPads by the pool, right?
Sincerely,
Polly Paperwait

Dear Ms. Demeanor,
The storage lockers in my buidling are more like storage shelves, deep and stacked three high.
There are some that look like they haven't been cleaned out since BEFORE the building was built.
The children who slept in a few of the forgotten cribs are probably grandparents by now.
Shouldn't there be a rule about keeping these spaces tidy?
Signed,
Dee Clutter
Dear Dee,
Dear Ms. Demeanor,
My holiday tips to the building staff varied from standard to generous. I think I may have shortchanged one who absolutely gives me the creeps but who does a lot for us simply because of timing -- passing on packages, occasionally getting my kids off the school bus if it is early. I feel like he is giving me the stink-eye now.
How do I undo my possible tippling faux pas? Did I mention he skeeves me out and smells like dope on the night shift?
Dear Ms. Demeanor,
Is it rude to ask someone what their mortgage payment is?
Signed,
Curious Georgia
Dear Georgia,
In a word? Yes.
Dear Ms. Demeanor,
My condo has bike storage in our basement. There is a long wait list to get a space. This month I was notified that I finally got off the list, so I bought a new bike.
When I went to lock it up for the first time, I noticed that a lot of people are doubling up bikes in their spots. To the point that one spot even installed its own two-bike rack that spills into my space.
