Housing lottery applications are open for 36 rent-stabilized apartments at a new development in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx. New Yorkers who earn $42,172 to $173,340 are eligible to apply, depending on the size of the household. Rents start at $1,133 for a one-bedroom apartment.
The building at 1182 Woodycrest Ave. has an elevator, senior center, bike storage lockers, community center, and terrace. It’s located near the 167th Street subway station serving the 4 train.
Developed by the Bluestone Organization and Crown Architecture & Consulting, the nine-story building holds 53 units total, according to Bluestone. It also has 14 parking spaces and a laundry room, according to the developer.
The apartments are set aside for New Yorkers earning from 50 to 90 percent of the area median income (AMI)—a metric that depends on how many people you live with. Currently the AMI for New York City is $124,300 for a two-person household. The units available include one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.
There are seven one-bedroom apartments available for households earning from $50,743 to $83,880. The rent for these apartments is $1,383 per month.
Another 3 percent of the apartments will be preferentially given to New Yorkers above the age of 62. A small percentage of the apartments are also set aside for residents with mobility, vision, and hearing needs.
Applications must be submitted online or postmarked no later than Jan. 7th.
