Tense hearing on building fines, broker fee bill stalls, & more

This week, readers were interested in Brick’s recap of a heated public hearing held online that discussed relaxing fines for Local Law 97. A proposal for buildings that make a “good faith effort” to comply with the law would exempt them from penalties, and earlier this month, two city council members introduced a bill to limit the law’s enforcement.
