This week, the details of a gut renovation on the Upper West Side captured the attention of Brick Underground readers.

The dated co-op needed upgrades to both the electrics and plumbing and the 700-square-foot apartment was totally reconfigured. Would you have the stomach and the budget for it? The total cost of the renovation was $558,000, or $600 per square foot.

Also of interest: Brick's Ask An Expert column, which this week answered a question from a buyer about a proxy they were asked to sign at the closing of their co-op. Luckily a proxy can be easily rescinded but you should never feel coerced into signing one.
