5 apartments for sale in Queens under $660,000 with open houses
If you’re looking to buy an apartment in New York City, and are priced out of Manhattan and Brooklyn, consider Queens: The borough’s median sales price in the first quarter was just $660,000.
And while that’s much lower than the first quarter median prices for Manhattan and Brooklyn, it’s actually the second highest on record for Queens. The borough is seeing trends similar to Brooklyn, with rising prices and falling listings. So you can expect to face some competition and might want to act fast if you’re looking to get a deal.
The city’s largest borough has a diverse array of housing types, including new condos closer to the city, condos and co-ops in Northern Queens, and houses farther out with more of a suburban feel.
Buyers who no longer need a short Manhattan commute are fueling demand for cheaper single-family houses in farther-flung eastern Queens, says Bianca Colasuonno, a broker at Compass. You can hear more of her insights on Brick’s latest podcast, which puts a spotlight on Queens real estate.
