If you’re one of the many New Yorkers who brought home a pet during the pandemic and are looking for a new rental, you’ll have more luck finding an apartment now. (There are currently over 21,440 pet-friendly apartments on StreetEasy).

That’s because landlords are being more flexible in order to fill their empty apartments, including allowing pets in previously no-pet buildings or permitting more than one pet in an apartment. Some are even allowing larger dog breeds over 50 pounds, which are often banned from NYC rentals.

So, if you’re looking for a new apartment for you and your furry friend, here are five one bedrooms for around $2,500 a month in pet-friendly buildings.

25 West 83rd St., #4R, Upper West Side

Apartment #4R is located in a townhouse and has hardwood floors, recessed lighting, high ceilings, stainless steel appliances, central air conditioning and heating, and two closets.
