Princeton, New Jersey, best known for the prestigious Ivy League university of the same name, has a lot to offer if you’re ready for suburban living. There are well-rated public schools, parks, and a popular downtown area. It’s also the number one place to live in New Jersey, according to Niche

You can get a lot for your money when it comes to buying a house compared to New York City: the median sales price is $550,000, according to Realtor.com. You can find a variety of styles like Tudors and new construction located in tree-lined, suburban neighborhoods. There are also several private and gated communities. Most houses here have large yards and home offices, ideal in the Covid era.

Princeton University is a major part of the college town, and there are also museums, parks, and lots of local shops and restaurants. For culture, there’s Princeton University Art Museum, and Morven Museum & Garden. Popular parks include Princeton Battlefield State Park, the site of a major Revolutionary War battle, and Turning Basin Park. Downtown, you’ll find Palmer Square, a mall with national chains and local shops, plus restaurants like Agricola Eatery and Hoagie Haven, a popular sandwich shop around since the 70s. The public schools also check out with an A+ rating from Niche
