If you’re looking for a two bedroom in an area of Manhattan that is still comparatively affordable, why not hop the A train to Washington Heights, where you might actually be able to buy a decent-sized apartment without breaking the bank.
According to StreetEasy, the median price for a two bedroom in the (extremely) uptown neighborhood is $585,000—far less than the Manhattan median price of $999,000, per Douglas Elliman's fourth quarter report for Manhattan sales. And savings aren’t the only thing you’ll get by living “In the Heights.”
