A two bedroom with Central Park views, for 'only' $4,800
This Upper West Side apartment, 467 Central Park West, #4B, offers Central Park views for less than your typical Central Park West price.
The apartment is a two bedroom, two bath in a prewar condo building, and it's "just" $4,800 a month, thanks to its location at 107th Street, a few dozen blocks north of the more desirable park-side real estate. (According to PropertyShark, in 2018, luxury buyers are willing to pay a premium of 25 percent to live on blocks bordering Central Park.) Still, the rent is well over the $3,184 median for a two bedroom in Manhattan Valley, but it's obvious why: The building is three blocks from the 110th Street-Cathedral Parkway B and C station.
The hardwood floors and arched entryways lay the building's vintage on thick, and these features look well-preserved. There are also beamed ceilings, and one of the two bedrooms is on a corner (see top). Both have direct views of the park's trees.
The windowed galley kitchen is stubby and narrow, but the cupboards look ample. The appliances are on the new side, and they include a dishwasher.
We're missing a look at the smaller bedroom, as well as the bathrooms, according to the floor plan, so they may not be in great shape. We do get to see the living room, which also looks out on the park.
The floor plan also shows lots of closets.
The building has a bike room, laundry, and a live-in super, and it's pet friendly.
