Here are 5 two bedrooms in Hunter's Point having open houses this weekend
Hunters Point, Queens, residents are getting more access to their waterfront. The second part of a park along the East River in a formerly industrial area opened this week, part of the Hunter’s Point South development project. The extension starts south of 54th Avenue and wraps around Newtown Creek, where it connects to a park that opened in 2013.
The now 11-acre park gives Queens residents a place to take in views of the East River and Manhattan skyline, and the new part adds bicycle pathways, fitness equipment, picnic terraces, a kayak launch, and viewing platform, Curbed reported. There are also new upgrades to the roads and utilities in the area, in support of the housing portion of the project, which will have 5,000 apartments, according to amny.
The neighborhood offers a quick commute to Manhattan that’s a one-stop ride for many residents on the 7, E, N, M, Q, and R trains.
