Apply to rent a Bronx apartment for as low as $865 a month
Applications are open for 218 discounted apartments in two new buildings in Belmont, the Bronx through the city housing lottery.
The apartments are studios and one, two, and three bedrooms on Third Avenue, across from St. Barnabas Hospital. The buildings are entirely "affordable," and are supposed to provide laundry rooms and access to outdoor space, including a rooftop garden. One side of the complex fronts Bathgate Avenue.
The apartments are set aside for households making $32,543-$72,600 a year, with rents starting at $865 a month, for a studio.

The buildings are also set to include community space, medical facilities, and retail, as well as what's called supportive housing, for formerly homeless people with social services needs. The complex is a little over 15 minutes' walk from the 182nd-183rd Street B and D station, and a 12-minute walk from the Fordham Metro-North stop.
