This 20th-floor condop rental in the Flatiron District is conveniently located and looks to be nicely renovated. It's a two bedroom, two bath, with a dramatic balcony off the living room, sticking out over Lexington Avenue. The building has a doorman, a pool, a roof deck, laundry, and a gym, and the apartment is listed for $4,500 a month.

Pros and cons
"At 850 square feet, this apartment has a lot of rooms packed into not a lot of space. The kitchen has no window, and the second bedroom is barely big enough to fit the sofa and desk that are in there now. But this is Manhattan, and what do you expect from an apartment walking distance from the Empire State Building? The rent is up there, but it's well below the $6,900 median rent for a two bedroom in the neighborhood, and the balcony looks like a picturesque place to get some air/tame your fear of heights."—Nathan Tempey
"If hotel-like living is for you, this two-bed is pretty much a slam dunk. And, at $4,500 per month you're getting a deal thanks to the balcony, to-die-for views from 20 floors up, and pool.
