The city is taking applications for 50 apartments in a new building in the East Village through the housing lottery.
The apartments are in 524 East 14th St., one of two seven-story buildings built by developer Extell on the block between avenues A and B. The apartments are studios and one and two bedrooms, with rents starting at $1,114 a month for a studio.
The units are set aside for households in two income ranges: $40,080-$54,480 and $79,783-$124,020. For an additional fee, lottery tenants can access the building's kids room, gym, pool, steam room, lounge, and roof deck.
The development is set to include a Target on the ground level.

The building is a long block and a half from the First Avenue L station, and five and a half blocks from Union Square.
