This one bedroom in Astoria has two balconies and a roof deck
Yesterday we compared the northwest Queens neighborhoods of Astoria and Long Island City, which are both attracting a lot of attention these days. Long Island City is known for its high-end, new construction high rises, whereas Astoria is lower to the ground and markedly frumpier. This apartment, then, is perhaps emblematic of the Astoria to come, with more and more amenity-packed luxury developments like those to the south.
Listed by Douglas Elliman for $2,600 a month, the one bedroom, one bath is priced above the neighborhood median rent of $2,142 for a one bedroom. That higher price gets you a lot in the way of perks, including two balconies and access to a shared roof deck. Note, though, that the closest subway stop at 30th Avenue is currently closed for renovations.
You'll enter into the living room (see main image), which features new hardwood floors and large windows. It leads directly to one of the balconies, which faces a quiet residential block and adds substantial square footage to the space. The kitchen has ample storage and counter space, as well as new fixtures and appliances.
There's another balcony off the bedroom, which looks like a sunny space and comes with a large closet. The windowed, marble-lined bathroom seems especially luxurious.
The building also has a gym, laundry, and bike storage. Some parking is available, presumably for a fee, and pets are permitted.
