Apply to rent an apartment in South Slope for as little as $1,035 a month
Applications are open for six discounted apartments in South Slope through the city's housing lottery.
The apartments are one and two bedrooms in a new, 22-apartment building at 198 19th St., between Fourth and Fifth avenues. The lottery units are set aside for households making $35,486-$57,240, with the one bedrooms renting for $1,035 a month. The remainder of the apartments in the building will rent for market rates.
The building has a roof deck and a gym, and all the apartments are supposed to come with washer-dryers. The building also has a parking garage with 12 spaces, of which four have already been rented, according to a Department of Housing Preservation and Development spokesman. Applicants will be filled in as to whether there are spaces still available upon beginning the application process, the spokesman said.
Full income eligibility and rent details are here:
The building is four blocks from the Prospect Avenue R station, and about the same distance from entrances to the Prospect and Brooklyn-Queens expressways.
