This 505-square-foot second-floor studio at 686 MacDonough St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant is listed at $390,000. But don’t let the small size fool you. The apartment still has lots to offer, including a walk-in closet and a surprisingly spacious kitchen and bathroom.

The living room/bedroom area is nice and bright with a pair of large windows that usher the sunlight in, as well as recessed lights in the high ceilings that mean you can keep the floors lamp-free. Said floors are made of white oak, and they look pristine.

As it’s currently set up, with a couch rather oddly positioned right at the foot of the bed, the main room seems a bit cramped. A bookcase or a screen could work wonders here by carving out defined spaces for both a living room and a bedroom area. Or, if you wanted to go the extra mile, it would be possible to add a wall and make a narrow bedroom with its own window and two closets.

The kitchen is fairly large, with gray cabinets that reach to the ceiling. There are also full-sized stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, an easy-to-clean white-tile backsplash, and somewhat spacious Caesarstone countertops. The table in the photos is precariously close to the refrigerator, and, well, everything else, meaning you might want to rethink this arrangement.

The bathroom is contemporary-looking with a floating vanity, custom tan tiles on the floor and walls, and a rainfall shower head atop a narrow-looking tub.

The apartment is in a newly constructed boutique condo building near Saratoga Park, four blocks from the Halsey Street J, M, Z station. The building has common outdoor space and on-site laundry. Common charges are $318 a month, and taxes are $341 a month.
