Housing lottery apartments are opening up near Yankee Stadium, starting at $864 a month for a studio

The 12-story building at 294 East 162nd St. is set to be a mixture of supportive housing for formerly homeless people and below-market-rate apartments.

Applications open Monday for 88 below-market-rate apartments in the Bronx that are coming available through the city's housing lottery.

The units are in a new 12-story building at 294 East 162nd St., seven blocks from Yankee Stadium in Melrose. The building is 126 apartments in all, the remainder being set aside for formerly homeless people, with attendant supportive services. 

The building is described as having 24-hour lobby staff, an on-site manager, a courtyard, a gym, a computer room, and laundry.

Lottery apartments include studios and one-, two-, and three-bedrooms. They are reserved for households making $31,509-88,560. Studios start at $864 for a single person making $31,509-$40,080.

The B, D, and 4 trains run out of 161st Street-Yankee Stadium.
