There's a lot of room to stretch out in this three bedroom.

If you've always wanted to live in a classic New York City apartment on the park (Central, of course), now is your chance—provided you've got a few million to spend.

This three bedroom, three-and-a-half bath co-op at 875 Fifth Ave. is listed for $4.25 million, with $4,179 a month in maintenance. Located in a prewar Emory Roth-designed building, the apartment is a corner unit, measures 2,200 square feet.

The listing describes a "room for days" feel, and it's easy to see why. The rooms radiate off a spacious central gallery. The master bedroom has southern and eastern exposures (so no park views), as well as a walk-in closet and a shared en-suite bath. There are two walk-in closets, as well as a storage room. An additional dressing room area could be used as a den or home office.

Listing photos show high ceilings, wood floors, lots of light, and classic moldings, as well as some less-than-elegant air-conditioners. We don't see any of the many bathrooms, so some renovation might be in order to bring them up to  date.

Unlike the rest of the apartment, the kitchen, with granite counters is a bit narrow and, though it's serviceable, it's nothing specious. However it does connect to a sizable dining room.

Building amenities include a full-time doorman, two attended elevators, a video security system, a laundry room, storage units, a fully-equipped gym, and a bike room. The building is pied-à-terre friendly and underwent a lobby renovation recently. It allows up to 50 percent financing, and a 4 percent flip tax is paid by the buyer.

As mentioned, the co-op is across the street from Central Park, and for Vermeer fans, The Frick Collection is around the corner. Shopping for essentials and high-end goods is nearby as well. The Fifth Avenue bus is right outside the door, and the closest subway stop is the 6 at 68th Street.
