If you've always dreamed about living in a classic Brooklyn Heights brownstone on a classic Brooklyn Heights block, this $599,000 one-bedroom at 126 Wiillow Street is worth checking out. The apartment, which is in a five-unit brownstone built during the 19th century, ticks off all the period-charm boxes, starting with its frontage.

Inside, the apartment, which, given that it's marked as #4, we imagine is at least one flight up, has hardwood floors, an entry foyer, two closets (one in the foyer and the other in the bedroom), a separate kitchen, and a woodburning fireplace. The kitchen could use a bit of a cosmetic update, but we'd imagine it's nothing a trip to Home Depot and Ikea couldn't fix.

The entire space gets a healthy dose of light, thanks to oversized windows. Just in time for summer, there are through-wall air conditioners in each room.

It's is also a quick walk to the gorgeous (and iconic) Brooklyn Heights promenade, and has easy access to Manhattan via the 2 and 3 trains. The Clark Street stop is a couple of blocks away.

Pets are welcome, which is not always a given in a brownstone, and the maintenance, at $660, is relatively low. That means that as long as you can put 20 percent down, you're looking at monthly costs under $3,000, which is about how much it'll cost you to rent a similar apartment in the neighborhood.
