Rent in a new downtown Brooklyn development for as low as $897 per month—if you qualify
Applications are now open for 143 affordable rentals in a new construction in downtown Brooklyn, via NYC Housing Connect.
Studios, one-, and two-bedrooms are available in the development, which according to New York YIMBY will be a 25-story, mixed-use building. The apartments are available to New Yorkers earning 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), which in this case ranges from $32,640 to $54,630 depending on household size.
The building's in a central location, close to multiple subway lines and Fort Greene Park, and you'll find the kind of plentiful perks that often come with high-end new developments, including a 24-hour attended lobby, resident manager, and sun terrace. The listing also notes that there's a fitness center, computer lounge, and dog grooming service, plus party rooms, laundry, and bike storage, though these involve paying additional fees.
If you're interested and think you qualify, you can make a profile and apply online via NYC Housing Connect, or request a paper application by sending a self-addressed envelope to 33 Bond Street Apartments, PO BOX 1543, New York, NY 10159. (Don't apply more than once, or you could be disqualified.) Applications must be submitted by April 14, 2017.
