A 10-room duplex penthouse designed by Robert A.M. Stern on the 17th and 18th floors of 18 Gramercy Park South (on the market for $47.5 million) has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a terrace off the master suite with a hot tub, and an upper floor with a family room that leads to a sun deck featuring a heated dipping pool decorated with blue tiles and offering views of the Chrysler building.

This week notwithstanding, the weather in New York City this summer has been pretty steamy. Since nothing beats the heat like a dip in a cool pool, we’re dedicating this week’s column to one of the season’s most covetable amenity, a place with a private aquatic center. Here’s what’s available:

For those who prefer to swim their laps away from the scorching sun’s rays, this Tribeca townhouse at 2 North Moore Street (on the market for $39.5 million) has a 50-foot indoor heated pool on its top floor, adjacent to a spacious fitness center, natch.

At 45 Greene Street in SoHo, two combinable loft homes priced at $14.25 million—including one with this private heated swimming pool—can be combined to create a triplex with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and over 7,000 square feet of outdoor space on which to entertain your guests after all of those pool parties.

This penthouse condo at 471 Washington Street in Tribeca (yours for $24.5 million) has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, seven landscaped terraces, an outdoor kitchen, a home gym, a sauna and a private pool (that's unfortunately concealed in this particular pic).

Finally, a triplex within a three-unit Greek revival townhouse at 232 West 15th Street (on the market for $11.495 million) has two bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a 30-foot long, 8-foot-deep, heated saltwater pool beneath a double height solarium with an exposed brick wall and a cascading waterfall.
