The Financial District used to be a snooze once the working day ended, but lately, things have been getting more lively downtown. This two-bedroom condo, close to both the new Fulton Street station and Seaport, is in the center of the action.

Located in a small, prewar building—there are only three other apartments here—the loft unit has been fully renovated and made open and airy. Listed by Nest Seekers International for $2.285 million, the apartment's price is about average for the rapidly developing area.

In the living room, which is illuminated by large windows, you'll find high, arched ceilings and exposed brick that evoke the building's history. The open kitchen, meanwhile, is fully contemporary, with ample storage space, new granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances, including a wine fridge.

The spacious master bedroom is accented with more exposed brick and includes a walk-in closet and en-suite bath; the latter has been stylishly updated with marble counterops, a glass sink, and tile backsplash, and includes a shower and separate tub. The second bedroom also comes with generous closet space, and is directly across from the hall bathroom.

The floorplan reveals space for an additional bedroom, though since it lacks windows, it may make for a better office area or guest room. There's also a washer and dryer in the apartment, and amenities include elevator access to the apartment and virtual doorman service.
