How to get a Harlem rental for under $1,200/month
Thirty-six "newly rehabilitated" affordable apartments are now taking applications for renters, with options starting as low as a $1,156/month studio, per a new listing posted on NYC Housing Connect. The apartments are spread across five different buildings in West Harlem, and include a mix of studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms.
See below for the full list of prices, income requirements, and availabilities:
The apartments are located at 235 West 116th Street; 119, 123-125, and 132 West 33rd Street; and 63 West 137th Street, and were rehabbed as part of the city's Multifamily Preservation Loan Program. No word on any amenities, but as usual, half of the available rentals will be reserved for applicants who currently live in the neighborhood, in this case Harlem's Community Board 10.
