If location and natural light are two of the biggest deciding factors on the apartment hunt, this Upper East Side one-bedroom may be tough to pass up: It's got its own glass-enclosed solarium (a rarity for a small rental), and is just a block away from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, on 81st between 5th and Madison.

Pets and smoking aren't allowed here, and none of this comes cheap: The owners are asking $6,500/month, prohibitively steep for a one-bedroom even in this slice of Manhattan. But is it worth it if it means you can swing through the American Wing or browse your favorite Impressionists the way most of us peruse the new chip options in our block's bodega?
