The Open House Scorecard: Apparently, not even an impending hurricane can quench the impulse to buy real estate
We're not sure how well-attended yesterday's open houses were, but it appears at least that hurrification planning didn't interfere with windowshopping.
Among the 10 open houses StreetEasy users saved to their open-house calendars more often than any others this weekend is a $1.675m two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo on Broadway and Walker Street in TriBeCa. The chef's kitchen features top-notch SubZero appliances and a Miele dishwasher, as well as custom shelving, a breakfast bar and vintage marble. The high-floor loft has 10.5-foot ceilings and nine oversized corner windows with city views from three exposures. The second full bath also has a retro feel with vintage marble and slate.
Over in Chelsea, on West 22nd between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, is a $1.195m one-bedroom, one-bath corner loft co-op with an open gourmet kitchen equipped with a Garland stove, Sub Zero appliances and a sizable free-standing island. The new-to-market apartment has a home office and features a W/D and a wall of built-in bookcases. The building has a Virtual Doorman.
Though it’s not a loft, a $1.95m two-bedroom, three-bath co-op on West 78th -- between Riverside Drive and West End Avenue -- features a renovated eat-in kitchen equipped with a SubZero fridge, Miele dishwasher, Viking stove, a W/D and a wine fridge, as well as a tile floor. The maid’s room has been converted into a home office, and the apartment has eastern exposures with southern views overlooking townhouses. It’s a block from the subway and crosstown bus.
