The StreetEasy Hot Dozen: 12 rentals that may or may not be available by the time you read this
You're not a New Yorker if you don't hope to one day graduate from a life of hopping from okay apartment to mediocre one to, well, a hole-in-one stunner. This week's Hot Dozen -- the 12 rental apartments Streeteasy.com visitors clicked on most often over the past seven days -- features a few top-shelf apartments that might also work as shares for 20- or 30-somethings with some extra cash to spend.
A three-bedroom, two-bath furnished loft apartment at 105 East 16th Street and Park Avenue South is listed at $6,895/month for one year ($7,500 shorter term--could be perfect for a family doing a gut-reno of their own place). Half block walk to bustling Union Square, it comes fully furnished, with central air conditioning and floor-to-ceiling windows. An in-unit washer and dryer rounds out the list of extras.
Down in SoHo, a three-bedroom apartment at 53 Crosby Street and Spring Street is listed at the eye-popping $16,000/month. The loft-style apartment is on its floor and is in a building with only 6 other units. Coming to 2,500 square feet total, the apartment is large and beautiful, but deals a blow to the bank account.
A three-bedroom apartment at 312 Bowery and Bleecker Street is listed at $6,000/month. It's not exactly a stunner, but it sports a private terrace that the listing proclaims is "the largest terrace you've ever seen." In other words, a great outdoor space that could make you question if you even need to go out and explore the neighborhood's hundreds of hip spots.
