At $385,000 for approximately 750-square feet ($513 per square foot), this one-bedroom co-op at 345 East 93rd Street between First and Second Avenues is very competitively priced for the neighborhood. According to StreetEasy.com, only three other one-bedroom apartments on the Upper East Side are listed for less per square foot, and two of those are located in a land-lease building (301 East 63rd Street) with extremely high maintenance fees.

The least expensive one-bedroom for sale in this post-war doorman high rise, #17A was initially listed at $439,000 in June 2010 and has had three subsequent price reductions. It's a true one bedroom (at this price one usually must settle for a converted alcove studio), with ample closets, an unobstructed view of the East River, and a renovated open kitchen that is spacious for the genre. At $1,167 per month, the maintenance is reasonable. The building also has a gym and accepts pets.
