Here are 5 houses on the North Fork under $500,000 with recent price cuts
In winter we dream of summer, and for many New Yorkers, that means heading out to the East End of Long Island, where you can recharge at the beach or stroll through a picturesque village, and get away from the grind.
Your fantasy might pay off if you act now: Sales have been stagnating on the East End, resulting in more inventory for buyers to choose from, so you have more opportunity to get a deal.
And if you head to the North Fork, where house prices are traditionally lower than what you would find in the Hamptons, you'll do even better. The area is known for its vineyards, wineries and farm stands and none of the showy scene that you can find in the Hamptons. While prices are up (the median sales price increased 5.4 percent to $630,000 in the fourth quarter of 2018, a record high)—they are far lower than in the Hamptons, where the median sales price is $995,000.
Some other numbers should know: The average sales price declined 14.7 percent, the number of sales in the North Fork declined by 46.1 percent and inventory increased 1.4 percent.
Here are five North Fork houses that can be yours for under $500,000 that have all had recent price cuts.
