The StreetEasy Hot Dozen: 12 rentals that may or may not be available by the time you read this

In this week's Hot Dozen -- the 12 rental apartments Streeteasy.com visitors clicked on most often over the past seven days -- we find three relatively well-priced pads uptown and downtown.

A one-bedroom (convertible two-bedroom) apartment at 181 Thompson Street and Bleecker Street, has been on the market for 3 months (never a good sign, along with the lack of interior photos). However, it recently took a $400 price cut to $2,000/month and it's located in prime Greenwich Village area, close to Washington Square Park, Soho, and the East and West Villages. The second bedroom could also double as a home office and the building boasts a live-in super and Virtual Doorman.

A three-bedroom apartment at 21 West 85th Street and Central Park West is listed at $3,200/month. Not only is the apartment a duplex with a bathroom on each floor, it's directly across the street from Central Park and has its own private outdoor deck.

Further uptown in Washington Heights is a furnished studio apartment at 551 West 165th Street and Broadway listed at (a very low) $750/month. That's probably because the apartment has a communal bathroom and kitchen area shared with an undisclosed number of other apartments. However, the apartment is available as a short-term rental, which may make it a nice choice for someone just moving to the city, who might not want to commit.

For more of the most popular listings of the week--from studios to three-bedrooms, elevators to walkups--check out the links below.

If the apartment you like requires a guarantor that you don't have, see if the landlord accepts Insurent, a great solution from one of BrickUnderground's sponsors.
