The StreetEasy Hot Dozen: 12 rentals that may or may not be available by the time you read this

The idea of climbing stairs in the 90-degree heat sounds awful.  Maybe that's why so many of the apartments in this week's Hot Dozen--the 12 apartments Streeteasy.com visitors clicked on most often over the past seven days--are in elevator buildings, even though walk-up buildings tend to be a bit cheaper.

A studio at 317 E. 18th Street and Second Avenue is listed at $1,475/month and has an elevator as well as a live-in super and laundry room. Note: It's in a co-op building so in order to move in you must submit an application and be approved by the board, adding some time to the moving process, and there's already an application pending.

A one-bedroom at 91 East 3rd Street and First Avenue, already in contract, was listed at $1,590/month. The apartment is in a pre-war building with an elevator and is in an excellent East Village location, and only mere blocks from the Lower East Side, Soho, Greenwich Village, the Bowery, and Alphabet City.

A junior one-bedroom at East 64th Street and First Avenue is listed at $2,500/month. Not only does the building have an elevator, but the apartment allegedly has central air conditioning, which sounds like a dream come true in these sweltering New York City summer days.

If the apartment you like requires a guarantor that you don't have, see if the landlord accepts Insurent, a great solution from one of BrickUnderground's sponsors.
