StreetEasy's Most Wanted: Brooklyn's not just for bridges — it's got homes with outdoor space for under $800k, too

On Monday, our Open House Scorecard highlighted Upper West Side prewar apartments for under a million, and the bargain-hunters are still out in force: This week's StreetEasy's Most Wanted--the 10 sales listings StreetEasy browsers saved more often than any others during the past 7 days--features a dossier of condos and townhouses in Park Slope and Williamsburg ringing in at under $800k, many with outdoor space.

A rare two-bedroom townhouse on the corner of Jackson and Leonard Streets in Williamsburg selling for $799k has a sweet private outdoor patio. The single family (legal two family) walk-up was nicely renovated by the owners in 2006, has an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, cherry wood cabinetry, new floors and new windows in all rooms. But the updates aren't just aesthetic: there's a new water heater, natural gas boiler and updated electric and plumbing systems with a hook-up for a new washer and dryer. It has insanely low monthly costs ($133/month in real estate taxes) and the Lorimer L train station is a four-block walk away.

Also in Williamsburg, a $635k four-bedroom (yes, four) townhouse on a tree-lined block on Powers Street — between Manhattan and Graham Avenues — is move-in ready and offers a (small) backyard for the kids and pets to play in if the three-floor home feels too crowded. One of the rooms on the third floor offers city views — and speaking of the city, Manhattan is within reach via nearby transportation at Graham and Lorimer Avenues.

Over on 8th Street in Park Slope between 4th and 5th Avenues, a $715k two-bedroom condo offers a master bedroom that opens to a private balcony. The master also has an en suite bath and a walk-in closet. If you’re a sucker for saving money (who isn’t?) the apartment has low carrying costs with common charges at $346. The building itself is equipped with an alarm system, high speed Internet and is Cable TV ready. Other perks: there’s a W/D and dishwasher.

Another two-bedroom Park Slope condo — on the market for $349k — requires a bit more work. Located on the corner of 9th Street and 8th Avenue, it’s a fixer-upper that needs “your TLC.” Although the one-flight-up walk-up needs work, it shares a roof deck and offers common storage in the basement, and common charges are $280.
